Council has adopted theAho Tini 2030 - Arts, Culture and Creativity Strategythat is designed to further support the arts and the artists in the Capital and we are hiring! The strategy aims to build on our rich cultural traditions and identity of our capital city - Information technology focuses on access and inclusion in the arts sector, higher visibility of Ng? Toi M?ori, the success of the city's artists and arts organisations, and activating the city's places and spaces. There are three positions who will form the backbone of the new Creative Capital team;

You will join our newly created Creative Capital leadership abilities team to develop and supervise an arts sector programme and activities that will deliver on the direction and priorities of Aho Tini. You will be the driving force behind shaping the City Arts team's priorities, service delivery, investments, and programmes to support Council direction by a strong partnership model with our internal and external partners. Along with your team, you will own the administration, monitoring and assurance reporting for funding agreements for Decade of Culture Fund and building a funding pipeline and priorities for arts sector funds and this is a crucial part of the function.
We would like to see your significant practice in grants and funding, you will have an intellectual brain and a strong knowledge of the analytical processes behind the grants system. You will be a visionary and a strategic thinker with a deep knowledge of visual arts, Wellington and its creative, cultural and social heart. You will enjoy leading and empowering people and be an accomplished internal and external relationship developer & networker. You will be highly practiced in assessing opportunities and identifying the benefits while skilled at juggling multiple projects and balancing stakeholder interests.
Capturing the needs, hopes and dreams of the community for Wellington to be creative capital requires a special kind of leader, you will be able to translate the strategies we have in place to reality and your strength will be in execution. It's important to us that you can build the capcapability in the team to bring a te ao Maori perspective to the team's work and develop guidelines and principles for working with mana whenua and toi Maori artists.
This is such an exciting opportunity to work in a creative team to deliver and support a diverse range of quality arts activities that are easily accessed by residents and visitors to our great city. The impact you will see is a creative life of the city through arts advocacy, leadership abilities and specialist advice to artists, organisations and the Council. As an practiced manager, you'll showcase examples of delivering on strategy in a leadership abilities team and your capability to develop a high performing team in a medium to large organisation.
