We are building new capcapability to provide national curriculum support through our regional network in Sector Enablement and Support to support schools, kura, early learning services and ng? k?hanga reo. We understand that to provide great curriculum support to ?konga working collaboratively together works best.
About this function
This is a new and unique opportunity to support teachers and kaiako to design and teach local curriculum and marau ?-kura that supports children and young people’s wellbeing.
You will be part of a newly formed national team working closely with schools, kura, early learning services and k?hanga reo to do the following:
   » Provide hands-on support to teachers and kaiako so they can deliver high-quality local curriculum and marau ?-kura with a focus on wellbeing
   » Work alongside parents, families, wh?nau and iwi to design a curriculum that reflects the aspirations of all ?konga, their whanau, is aligned to the national curriculum and reflects local needs
   » Work with curriculum resources, rauemi and guidelines (some examples include Ka Hikitia, Te Hurihanganui, Tapas? and Te Ahu o Te Reo M?ori, the Wellbeing and Mental Health Education Guidelines, refreshed Relationship and Sexuality Education Guidelines and Hauora (curriculum) and Social and Emotional Learning resources)
   » Build collaborative networks within communities and actively share local practices
this function will have a primary schooling focus.
About you
To be prosperous in this function you will need the following:
   » broad knowledge and practice in teaching and learning, leadership abilities, curriculum and assessment theory and practice, and an capability to support professional change at a school, kura, early learning or ng? k?hanga reo level with a primary schooling focus
   » Experiential knowledge and competencies in supporting curriculum design that has evidenced improved results for diverse communities
   » Strong facilitation and interpersonal expertise, diplomacy and an capability to adapt to different interaction styles and contexts
   » Proven practice of building and maintaining effective relationships with wh?nau, M?ori and Pacific communities
   » For those Curriculum Leads working in M?ori Medium settings a strong knowledge of Te Reo is essential
