A rare and exciting opportunity for a someone passionate about Wellington's heritageand how Information technology is shaped for the future to join us.
The Council values and celebrates the City's mana whenua heritage, built heritage and archaeological heritage and is committed to best-practice built and cultural heritage management. Our heritage team provides regulatory and funding advice, management and advocacy to enhance the contribution of heritage to city's urban regeneration.
The primary purpose of the function is to proactively understand the function of heritage and urban regeneration and develop relationships across Council and externally with heritage building owners, the commercial sector, iwi, local and central government partners to strategically utilise the Built Heritage Investment Fund. Your specialist knowledge of heritage buildings, capability to see the big pictureand understand our strategic priorities will help you facilitate targeted discussions for a more joined up Council investments. You will be capable of bringing stakeholders together, establishing partnerships and facilitating collaborative relationships. We are seeking for a strategic thinker who can develop new opportunities and can navigate the political landscape.
There is also a requirement for this function to provide heritage assessment of Resource Consent applications under RMA so practice in heritage management in a Resource Management Act environment and an knowledge of New Zealand's heritage legislation are also essential.
This is an awesome opportunity for someone who is agile and adaptive in their approach to be involved in exciting changes and developments in Wellington. Your practice will be in either heritage management, urban development or design. You will also have a good knowledge of sustainable development principles and knowledge of Maori perspectives and the relation of the Treaty of Waitangi.
