Would you enjoy field delivery within diverse landscapes including coastal island, wetland, freshwater, and bush environment? live As Senior Ranger Biodiversity Threats with the Department of Conservation, you will be joining our talented Biodiversity threats team to lead a range of animal and plant threats programmes in Twizel/Te Manahuna. This is a leadership abilities opportunity, which will involve the planning and authorisation of technical work programmes relating to: » Te Manahuna/Mackenzie Basin weed control programme » Te Manahuna/Mackenzie Basin animal pest control programmes particularly rabbits, pigs, deer and possums You will manage contracts and budgets, and provide input into national threats programmes, such as; Wilding Conifer Control, Tahr and Wallabies. You will conduct operational planning (monthly, annual and 4 yearly) and connected performance reporting requirements. Your function is very future focused, so you must be able to plan adaptively for long term success of the programmes and ensure the team you work with is capable and organised to deliver-on these goals.
