Director Pacific: Regional COVID response Group

Public Service in the Regions
We work together to make a difference for New Zealanders ensuring our COVID welfare response is aligned to and supporting the national health response.
We do this through three key groups; Regional Public Service Commissioners (RPSC), will coordinate and align the public service contribution across 16 regions, COVID Protect Framework Regional leadership abilities Groups (CPF RLGs) who will supervise and enable an effectively locally led and delivered Care in the Community response, MSD Regional Commissioners will coordinate the welfare system response as part of the Care in the Community approach.
These three groups are supported by several teams, providing operational support, data, analytics and policy advice.
Purpose of the Director Pacific: Regional COVID response group:
The Director Pacific: Regional COVID response group will provide high level strategic and operational advice and support to the Regional Public Service Commissioner on strategy implementation and across agency and stakeholder engagement.
The function will support and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders from across the region and leverage these relationships to implement strategies and initiatives for the benefit of the region.
In addition, the function will support the CPF RLG Chairs and help manage the effective function of the CPF Regional leadership abilities Group(s).
Your responsibilities will include:
   » Partnership: providing high quality, evidence located, advice and policy analysis to (RPSC).
   » Participation: supporting the RPSC/ARLG to make Information technology easier for Pasifika people to participate in the relationship more actively.
   » Protection: supporting the RPSC/ARLG to take active, positive steps to ensure that Pasifika interests are protected.
   » Recognition of Cultural Values: to support the RPSC/ARLG to recognise and provide for Pasifika people perspectives with an knowledge of Pacific wide code of ethics for Public Servants.
   » Using Mana Enhancing Processes: recognising the process is as important as the end point; the Director will support the RPSC/ARLG to engage early and pay on-going attention to the partnership.
   » Contributing to the development and implementation of Regional strategies and plans.
   » Strategically influencing and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders for the betterment of communities and whanau.
   » Inspire, lead and influence others to commit and have pride in working the Pacific and Community Capabilities Programme team at MSD
We are seeking for a person who has the following:
   » Proven practice, developed networks, credibility, engaging with Pasifika communities, organisations and professional networks.
   » An knowledge of the value and diversity of Pacific peoples, families and communities at local, regional and national levels which will allowing forming of genuine partnerships.
   » Has demonstrated a sound knowledge of key-contemporary issues through an equity lens faced by Maori/Pasifika.
   » broad practice in providing advice and support to senior leaders within the public sector.
   » Proven practice in leading and development of high performing teams.
   » Advance Project Management practice.
   » practice of prioritising in an often busy and complex environment and navigating competing deadlines.
   » capability to communicate effectively both verbally and written when required at a level acceptable to the audience.
   » The capability to travel as the function requires.
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
