Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

We are seeking for an Analyst to be part of the Business Case team responsible for business case development, review, and investment advice.
About the function

Reporting to Manager – Business Cases you will focus on ensuring a robust and compelling case supports new investment, and that advice to Ministers and Cabinet provides analysis and options to make the best decision.
Business Cases is part of the Investment Office, which form a large part of the Ministry’s capital expenditure programme and are funded through a mix of baseline and new funding. The annual Budget process is the mechanism for agreeing funding and priorities. You will play a key function in supporting the EIS input into the Ministry budget process.
You will work with the Property Delivery team to create business cases for school new-builds, redevelopments, and upgrades for the Education Infrastructure Service (EIS).
About you

You will offer significant practice in investment planning/investment business cases and will need to be comfortable working with financial information and have the confidence to challenge assumptions and the capability to lead and guide the process with multiple stakeholders.
You will also offer the following:

   » capability to work with ambiguity and articulate potential solutions strengths and challenges
   » Strong organisational expertise and an excellent capability to communicate and build trust
