This business has grown from humble beginnings building garages and sheds to large industrial and commercial buildings and homes. They also provide frame & trusses and reinforced steel from their onsite manufacturing facility supplying merchants and builders. They still work predominately in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, with a good reputation for quality and delivery on time and to budget. This family owned business is a great place to work.
The function
You’ll lead the finance team of 2 (plus yourself) in this prosperous construction business. Your function will include:
• Full responsibility for the financial functions of the construction and manufacturing divisions of the business, including managing an AR and admin resource.
• Financial accounting; month, quarter and year end reporting and management reporting, annual statements, preparation of budgets and business costing.
• Stock management – opening and closing stock levels.
• Job management – preparing and managing progress reports and liaising with project managers on the financial performance and profitcapability of jobs.
There is capacity for this function to grow with the person. Information technology could be done in 3 days, or if Information technology were full-time there would be some additional HR responsibilities included. Software used is Xero.

We’d like an practiced finance professional. Information technology could be someone stepping into a senior level function or a seasoned pro. It’s a down to earth environment, but growing exponentially, so an capability to think laterally, be resourceful and provide quality financial modelling advice to the business is essential.
