Pickers: » will be working everyday in the glasshouse » must be physically fit and able to work under the hydroponic tables » must be decisive and able to work quickly and carefully » able to work as part of a team Pack-house: » grading and packing strawberries for the shop and supermarkets » must be decisive and able to work quickly and carefully » good attention to detail as a high standard of quality is required » able to follow direction well » able to work as part of a team Shop adjuncts: tasks include: customer service, selling strawberries, making real fruit ice creams, fruit packing, general cleaning and maintaining a tidy hygienic workspace » must be reliable, friendly, and able to work well with others » able to work well under pressure, Information technology gets busy! » previous customer service practice preferred but not essential » a good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practises » Clean and tidy work habits » able to use your own initiative to help where needed Our strawberry season starts in September and finishes at the of January. We generally work 6 days a week with Mondays off. Hours are yet to be confirmed but shop adjuncts are approx 9:30am - 5:30pm. Pack house 8:30am to 4pm. Pickers 7am or 8am, depending on the daylight, until approx 3pm. Hours for the pack house and picking can vary over the weeks depending on cropping levels. Some moderate to heavy lifting is required.
