Our 4.5 star hotel is seeking a Commis Chef to join our friendly and professional team. Your day-to-day As a Commis Chef you will be required to complete shifts as part of our kitchen team. Your key tasks include: » Ensuring produce and food items used are of high quality » Preparing and cooking an array of food - this will include Staff meals, Breakfast items, Conference food, High tea items along with Lunch, & Dinner. » Appropriately plating up food and accompaniments » Meeting dietary requirements - dairy free, gluten Free » Assisting Sous Chef & Head Chef in planning menus and coming up with creative ideas » Reduce food wastage by correctly planning proportions of food as required located on number of staff, in-house guests & conference guests » Train other staff members in the Commis Chef or Kitchenhand function » Maintain a sustainable approach » Follow correct hygiene & Health & Safety procedures » Follow correct usage of cooking appliances and tools » Correct usage of cooking equipment What we need form you » Full capability to work an array of days and shift times including night shifts, public holidays and weekends » Be a strong team player and fit into a tight-knit team » Flexibility, capability & availability to work in other departments to meet business needs including as a Kitchenhand, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Maintenance. » Prior practice in a similar hotel located function is preffered but not necessary » Strong communication expertise and capability to communicate with guests » Strong leadership abilities expertise to train and develop others as needed We’ll compensate all your hard work with a great income and benefits – including a uniform, great room discount and superb training.
