About us Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day. Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child. Through EIS, the Ministry is committed to strengthening its asset management capcapability to support achieving Ministry strategy and government objectives. About the function this function is within the small and collaborative Strategic Asset Management team, focused on leading continuous improvement within the school property and investment management system. Information technology has been created to support the implementation of Te Rautaki Rawa Kura – The School Property Strategy and will have a focus around lifting asset management capcapability across EIS. Specifically the function will responsible for developing asset management frameworks, superviseing improvements in how we manage the portfolio and working across EIS to ensure alignment and integration with policies, funding and operations, including in relation to how we prioritise investments and improve asset performance overtime. About you You will have a tertiary qualification in law, property, accounting, economics, education, engineering, architecture, building science or other significant disciplines, or equivalent practice is required. You will also offer the following: » knowledge of strategic asset management and/or investment management » A strategic outlook with the intellectual capcapability to analyse large, complex issues to deliver new insights » knowledge of New Zealand’s political, economic, cultural and social structures » Excellent, oral and written communications, including the capability to present complex issues clearly and concisely » A thorough knowledge of New Zealand’s machinery of government and legislative processes, preferably including Budget decision making, and Cabinet processes » A track record of working effectively in a team, and the capability to build strong relationships with stakeholders If you’d like to bring your expertise to a compensateing function within an organisation that’s continuously reaching goals and striving for a better future for New Zealand, we’d love to hear from you.
