Within our IPONZ Trade Marks Team we At Presenthave a number of permanent and fixed-term opportunities located in our Wellington office for Associate Trade Mark Examiners.IPONZ sits within the Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery business group which strives to work with businesses, employees and consumers to help them participate effectively in the market place. Through the provision of our services at IPONZ, we aim to ensure people realise the full economic potential of their intellectual property. You will be familiar with some famous trade marks, for example, Magnum ice creams, Dove beauty bar and of course Buzzy Bee toys. A letter, word, phrase, sound, smell, shape, logo, aspect of packaging or any combination of these can be a trade mark. Used well, a trade mark can become a valuable business asset. In this function you will utilise your research, evaluation and analytical expertise, to examine trade mark applications to ensure that they meet requirements under the current legislation. This includes formalities examination, conducting appropriate research to determine whether or not the trade mark is distinctive and whether or not Information technology is confusingly similar to other trade marks already on the register. You will receive bespoke training and support from the team to assist you in progressing through the levels of Associate Trade Mark Examiner helping to you progress to a Trade Mark Examiner. As you progress your income increases. We are seeking for people who can bring: » expertise in researching, interpreting, analysing, problem solving and evaluating information and its practical application, including writing reports » Excellent verbal and written English language expertise, and can communicate ideas clearly both verbally and in writing » Robust interpersonal expertise including the capability to work with a wide variety of people, and a strong customer focus » Comfort working in the grey within a fast paced and changeable environment » A focused, detail oriented, conscientious, and responsive approach » The capability to lgain quickly and receive and implement feedback well » Assured judgement making and the expertise to clearly communicate your how you came to your judgements.
