About the function: Senior Developer – Cúram Multiple opportunities across Auckland and Wellington The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is undergoing transformation to ensure we deliver better products and services for New Zealand's most vulnerable citizens. We're keen for you to inject your creative thinking and talent to help make this happen. MSD have invested in Cúram (an IBM product) that provides software solutions for social service environments, also currently used in New York State and the UK. We continue to develop Cúram to ensure our social workers and front-line staff has the freedom to leave their desks and spend more time doing what matters most – putting New Zealanders at the heart of what we do. What you’ll be doing: You will play a key function within the wider Information technology group and deliver the product vision across complex multi-platform environments. Working closely with other designers across multi-disciplinary teams you'll ensure the products we develop are scalable, adaptable, and ultimately improve the wellbeing of NZ's vulnerable citizens. We'll give you the opportunity to stamp your mark on strategic design for new and existing applications and support the integrated application solutions. We are pursuing: » Significant development practice in Cúram at a senior level. » Recent practice in Cúram version 7 would be advantageous. » A passion for developing web-located and enterprise applications. » practice in developing responsive web applications. » practice in modern software frameworks and patterns – CSS, HTML, JSON , XML, XSLT, WSDL, JavaScript (ECMAScript 6 – ES6), React and Redux. » practice in developing scalable software against large relational databases. » Proven enterprise-level Java expertise. » Somebody with a social conscience committed to providing creative solutions for our clients. » practice working in a Scrum/ Agile, DevOps environment. » A strong team player who takes pride and ownership of their work. » capability to take the lead on a variety of tasks including liaising with stakeholders and peers. » Mentoring junior software developers to help them reach their potential. » An practiced Information technology professional who sees things through to the end.
