We provide high quality health advice to inform the decisions they make on behalf of the government. Your team will focus on primary and community care, which is the part of the health system where more people get most of their care and the opportunities are greatest to have a real impact on health results in our communities. You will be responsible for developing, leading and implementing various programmes of work across the System Strategy and Policy directorate, as well as within cross agency project teams on joint work programmes. You will lead the development of policy advice on a range of cross cutting issues and policy settings for primary and community located health and social services, including women’s health. You will work with other agencies to provide advice on improving results for vulnerable populations using all levers available to government and the community. You’ll bring a thorough knowledge of public policy issues and have demonstrated success in leading complex policy pieces. You may have a background in health policy or you may be a seasoned policy professional looking to make a difference in improving health results in a significant and highly visible way. At times you will lead virtual teams across the Ministry and sector, including policy, operational and clinical stakeholders. You’ll understand the machinery of government and know how to collaborate to get things done. As a highly collaborative policy professional who can see the benefits of strong policy advice using data analysis and research to evidence advice, you bring with you a strong capability to take complex information and make Information technology significant across a range of audiences. You’ll be an inclusive people leader with an inclusive working style. You build your team, leading through others and developing policy talent. Proving clear direction for your teams ensuring equity issues and our obligations to the Treaty of Waitangi are at the forefront of our thinking and advice. Previous prosperous practice in collaborating and brokering with other agency and sector stakeholders to achieved desired results is required. practice working with M?ori on policy, service design, engagement or governance is highly desirable.
