Job Opportunity: Event Producer:Job description:Job detailsOrganisation NZ Comedy Trust Closes 29 Jul 2021 Posted on 19 Jul 2021 Region Auckland Work type Contract, Fixed Term Work classification Management & Admin, Performing Arts ShareThe New Zealand Comedy Trust was established in 1995 to manage the NZ International Comedy Festival and foster the growth of comedy as a performing art in New Zealand.The Comedy Fest has since grown into one of the most loved boutique events of its type in the world. Held simultaneously over three weeks in Auckland and Wellington during May each year, the Festival is now a major nationwide event with a total attendance of around 90,000 each year. As the Event Producer, you will be part of a busy team responsible for the smooth running of the 2022 Comedy Festival. Alongside the Festival Producer, you will produce a range of NZ Comedy Trust shows within the Festival (from large commercial shows, to intimate late night gigs, to kids' shows), as well as supporting the Festival Producer in delivering the Best Foods Comedy Gala, our flagship event. Responsibilities include budgeting, ticketing, scheduling and logistics, reporting, and production administration. You will also deliver a range of artist and industry development initiatives, both within the Festival and all over the year. In addition, the function supports the Festival Producer in general operations delivery. To succeed in the function you will have: » Previous practice in arts or event management, including producing live events. » Effective budgeting, scheduling and administration expertise. » Excellent communication, relationship management and interpersonal expertise. » The capability to work to tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure. » A high level of initiative, self-motivation and enthusiasm. » The capability to work collaboratively as part of a small, dedicated team. » A passion for comedy and live performance. This is an exciting opportunity for an practiced Producer to join a small team in making a vital contribution to the comedy industry in Aotearoa. The NZ Comedy Trust aims to elevate New Zealand comedy as a celebrated and integral feature of the arts sector.
