About our group
The Sector Enablement and Support Group (SE&S) is the Ministry’s operational services group. We work closely with our Ministry, sector and government agency colleagues to ensure early childhood services, schools, kura and communities have the support they need to achieve the best education results for all children and young people.
SE&S has ten regions across Aotearoa/New Zealand. Each region is a significant provider of a range of learning supports and services, and employs specialists who provide support to children, young people and their wh?nau, As well as offering individualised support, these specialists help to build capcapability and knowledge among those who are supporting learners.
The team
Te Kahu T??, Intensive Wraparound Service is a service that provides comprehensive, evidence-located interventions to support children/young people with challenging behaviour, socio-emotional difficulties and complex learning needs across a range of contexts. The team works collaboratively with children/young people, parents/caregivers and family/wh?nau, schools, agencies and local communities to develop and implement comprehensive ecological wraparound plans.
The priority for these plans is for the child/young person to achieve success at home, school and in their local community. About this function
The Principal Advisor works closely with the National Manager to support and build capacity across the group, improve internal processes, focussing on maintaining Fidelity of the service.
Lifting system performance to enable positive results for tamariki, and their wh?nau who access the service.
Prioritising Te Tiriti o Waitangi/The Treaty of Waitangi policy in their everyday work and business planning, centred on the three work programmes for this policy:
   » Embed our commitment to Te Tiriti/The Treaty in our work
   » Work in partnership with M?ori and
   » Actively lift the leadership abilities practice and cultural capcapability of the education system.
About you
To be prosperous in the function you will be able to:
   » work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, at a senior level, to create and lead bespoke projects/practices to enhance the efficacy of Te Kahu T??. IWS.
   » constructively promote active debate over critical issues of service design, implementation and fidelity located on evidence, benchmarking research, analysis and stakeholder feedback
   » communicate your ideas through high quality written and oral advice
   » understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga
   » bring a significant tertiary qualification
   » travel within Aotearoa/New Zealand
   » have a clean driver’s licence.
You will be joining a collaborative, high performing team with a culture of constructive, open-minded debate who work together to implement effective, positive change for children, young peoplei and their families who access the Te Kahu T??, IWS service.
this function is an integral part of our team, providing support and leading key pieces of work, building relationships across the wider organisation to deliver Ministry priorities.
