Ko t? m?tou mahi – Our function
Reporting to the team leader – Internal Communications Auckland, the Senior Internal Communications Advisor plays a key function in providing strategic account management support for Te Kurutao Group M?ori. Te Kurutao Group M?ori brings together the key capabilities that are essential to ensuring that K?inga Ora can fulfil it’s legislative obligations to protect and enable M?ori interests and aspirations in relation to housing and urban development.
The group supports our place-located groups to partner with M?ori across the full range of the activities of K?inga Ora. Information technology works to drive innovation to support M?ori housing and urban development results, and embed Te Ao M?ori as an intrinsic part of the organisational capcapability of K?inga Ora.
As an practiced senior internal communications professional, you are a natural strategic thinker with excellent relationship management expertise who is easily able to build productive partnering relationships with the internal stakeholders you support. If you have practice in some or all of the following – culture building, embedding values, leadership abilities development, internal development, and working with executive stakeholders – then this is the function for you.
Key to your success in this function will be ensuring not only that strategic communications plans are in place, but that they are fit for purpose and align with, as well as promote, Te Ao M?ori all over our organisation.
Ng? p?manawatanga ?u – What you will bring:
   » significant tertiary or communications qualification, coupled with communications practice, including leading communications at programme level
   » A sound knowledge of Te Ao M?ori, and confidence working within tikanga and kaupapa M?ori environments
   » Fluency in Te Reo M?ori would be a distinct advantage
   » Demonstrated aptitude for writing clearly, with the capability to analyse and distil strategic and technical concepts down into simple and clear language
   » Excellent people expertise, with strengths in relationship management
   » Demonstrated practice in managing and communicating change
   » Political consciousness and sensitivity
