Our work focuses on the development of both people and stories. We have a range ofprogrammes,events and opportunities for filmmakers to develop their craft. This includes intensive development programmes, regional weekend workshops, evening TALKS and our annual two-day conference the Big Screen Symposium. Position OverviewThe Programme Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of our development programmes, workshops and events. Information technology is a 30 houra week function and includes some evening and weekend work. Areas of ResponsibilityCo-designing and managingdevelopment programmes, workshops and events to respond to pertinent issues, expertise gaps and filmmaker needs in the New Zealand filmmaking community Managing the prosperous delivery of most of our development programmes, workshops and community events, from start to finish, as well as contributing to development programmes led by others. Managing the annual BSS programmingby identifying and contracting international and local filmmaker speakers and ensuring their time leading up to and at the BSS is a compensateing practice. Contributing to funding applications, funding reports and board reports. Key Tasks» Prepare programme materials in advance of the programme opening » Write compelling promotional copy to ensure maximum audience reach and engagement within the filmmaking community » Secure external assessors for the contereliable development programmes » Tailor the development programmes to meet the selected participants career, craft and development needs » Approach and secure appropriate local and international speakers /advisors /mentors » Identify pertinent topics for events, forgenecessary connections, and helpcraft session content; » Deliver the programmes, workshops and events to budget » Prepare, and get signed, letters of agreements withparticipants / speakers /moderators /mentors /advisors engaged for ourprogrammes and events » Booktravel and accommodation for programmes and events, as required » Work with the programme participants and mentors to keep mentorships on track » contact with venues and speakers for technical set up including recording of events, audio-visuals, mics and lighting » Grow relationships with STS's counterparts in Australia and beyond, and with organisations that can expand our connections with international speakers / advisors /mentors » Contribute to the updating of our database » supervise turning recorded eventsinto podcasts for our website » supervise interns; About YouThe prosperous candidate will - have an knowledge ofthe screen sector - value storytelling for the screen - have excellent written and communications expertise - be able to work some evenings and weekends - contribute positively to a collaborative and collegial work environment You will work alongside the Executive Director and the Communications Manager at our office in Morningside, Auckland, which is easily accessible by public transport. Renumerationfor this 30 hour a weekfunction is between $52,000 - $60,000 per annum,dependant on practice.
