The Youth Orchestra Waikato (YOW) programme offers music opportunities across a range of activities to youth primarily aged 13-18 years. Rehearsals are held weekly in Hamilton, on Fridays 6.30 - 9pm with a concert at the end of each term, an annual camp and concert tour. Annual tasks include: » Rehearsing the orchestra at its regular rehearsals and conducting the performances » Annually auditioning and selecting players for YOW » Leading and directing the work of the YOW's team of tutors » Creating the rehearsal schedule and tutor schedule » Determining the season repertoire in collaboration with Orchestras Central Trust'sOrchestra Planning Manager You will bring: » broad classical musical training and practice including orchestral conducting » practice of working with and developing young musicians to reach their potential » Creative thinking to develop programmes that respond to the current cultural landscape Links & Contact info: Youth Orchestra Waikato How to submit the application: To apply, please email your CV and cover letter outlining your suitcapability for the function to Catherine Gibson atceo@orchestras.org.nz by 5.00pm Monday 24 May, 2021.
