About our group and team Sector Enablement and Support (SE&S) is the Ministry’s operational service delivery group. We work closely with our Ministry, sector and government agency colleagues to ensure early childhood services, schools, kura and communities have the support they need to achieve the best education results for all children and young people. Our regional teams focus on supporting early learning services, schools and kura, as well as provide specialist learning support to children and young people. We do this through coordinating and delivering responsive solutions in order to realise the local education priorities and goals. About this function The focus of this function is to monitor, assess and analyse population changes, school roll fluctuations and other trends and changes impacting on the structure of the education provision at all levels of the education network. This will include, planning and analytical support, project design, interpreting data from a number of sources and creating significant insights. About you You will have practice in an analytical function where you have extracted and reviewed data from different sources looking for trends, created reports highlighting risks and opportunities and presented your findings in a significant way to a variety of different stakeholders. You will also offer the following: » Well developed knowledge of statistical and/or demographic analysis with familiarity with a range of methodologies and techniques » Sound knowledge of demography, including analysing, interpreting and communicating demographic information » Applied knowledge and knowledge of a range of computer packages including Excel, Word, Access, MapInfo and SuperMap » Strong relationship management and communication expertise » practice engaging with iwi would be advantageous » The capability to build a good knowledge of the wider regional environment » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga Are you ready to make a difference?
