Kaitiakitanga – We lead the Ministry’s response to its obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, M?ori health aspirations and requirements, and equity in health results for all New Zealanders. The Ministry of Health is the kaitiaki of the health and discapability system in New Zealand. We are responsible for providing active stewardship and leadership abilities across the nations health and discapability system. We ensure the system provides people with the highest levels of care, regardless of who they are or where they live. We are seeking for a Senior Advisor to join our team to support the implementation of a range of M?ori health improvement programmes. As the Senior Advisor your responsibility will span the M?ori Health Service Improvement team and work across the M?ori Health Directorate. The Senior Advisor will be responsible for the contract management of services in line with the Ministry of Health’s Procurement Business Rules and Guidelines. This is a diverse and interesting function where you will directly contribute to developing the capacity and capcapability of M?ori health providers, developing the M?ori health workforce, and developing innovative approaches to M?ori health delivery; and through working with teams across the Ministry to address health equity for M?ori. To be prosperous in the function: » Competent to provide high level quality advice, along with maintaining oversight and direction of key programmes of work » You will lead the effective implementation of performance monitoring and evaluation, and reporting frameworks for key work programmes » Working with others will come naturally to you, you will excel in the area of stakeholder engagement » You’ll also be the person who enjoys sharing their knowledge and skills with others through coaching and mentoring » A focus on continuous improvement is important to the ministry as we are always trying to enhance and improve the way we operate.
