Providing high level policy advice directly to the Minister across a range of portfolio responsibilities, this is a challenging and compensateing function, giving you an insight into the workings of the Executive Government of today. All candidates must have an excellent knowledge of existing government and public service protocols and processes. this function requires knowledge of political processes, political nous and the capability to contribute, develop and direct policy advice and submissions within the portfolio areas. practice in responding to Official Information Act requests, parliamentary questions and drafting correspondence and briefings would be advantageous. Outstanding written and verbal communication expertise and attention to detail are essential. The function of Senior Ministerial Advisor requires a high level of trust and self-management, allowing you to work independently while playing a key leadership abilities function and contributing to team results. Information technology is essential you are able to keep the Minister and staff informed of issues that affect the workings of the Government. candidates must demonstrate a proven capability to effectively interpret a wide variety of information and resolve complex issues under pressure and applied knowledge of Te Tiriti. this function interacts with a variety of people, organisationsand sectors so the right applicant will have the capability to quickly establish and maintain excellent working relationships. A requirement of this function is that you are able to hold a National Security Clearance. There are certain criteria that must be met in this regard.
