Senior Policy Advisor
Contract Opportunity: 6 months : Immediate Start
Full time and Wellington located with the option of working flexibly (ie in the house)

In this urgent contract position, you will support the team with an immediate priority. You will help design, set up and administer an external collaborative governance framework to guide national-level implementation.

this function requires a Senior Policy Advisor/Analyst to take a lead function in shaping the policy/minister facing aspects of the programme (supported by other in-house policy advisors) which includes from now to when the governance is established and then looking further ahead to developing a cross-sector implementation plan and connected budget bid for investment.

Key expertise required:
   » Thought leadership abilities around the direction we're taking with the programme and the Minister, the sequencing of the work programme we're building (intellectually, not process-wise), and someone who sees/understands the cross-government/system thinking connections.
   » Excellent policy writing expertise with practice in writing cabinet papers and the requirements for budget bid processes and cost benefit analyses at a system/sector level
   » Direct practice in supporting the delivery of high profile ministerial priorities
   » Relationship management and collaboration expertise for working collaboratively across a system
   » Strategic policy thinking balanced with pragmatism for delivery/implementation
   » Political nous/savvy, assertiveness and working at pace to help bring about structure and clarity to our engagement
