Job Opportunity: Management Accountant:FuelAgencyJob description:Job DescriptionManagement Accountantwe At Present have a great opportunity for a Management Accountant within our Finance Department. District Councils are complex organisations with many varying and diverse businesses and legislative requirements which means our planning and budgeting is a significant process. this function plays a key part in the preparation of our Annual and Long Term Plans.This position will also provide day to day financial advice and support across Council and will look at ways to better source and provide key information to the business. The prosperous candidate will have planning, budgeting and management accounting practice within a complex organisation, and a high level of business acumen. Strong communication expertise and the capability and confidence to provide informed and constructive advice to non-financial stakeholders is required. You must be proactive, enthusiastic and passionate about adding value, not just number crunching. this function also requires hands on practice in the preparation and analytical review of financial reports, budgets and business plans. Other responsibilities include: » Assisting the timely and accurate delivery of monthly management reports and reconciliations including interpretation and explanation of variances » Assist with the preparation of budgets, budget phasing, and monthly forecasting processes » expertise and practice of reporting under accounting standards » Working collaboratively with budget managers and senior staff to provide key information for the management of financial resources across the organisation » Proactively identifying improvements in processes and service delivery.
