About our group Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, creates and supports safe, healthy, inspiring and ICT enabled learning environments. EIS manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, is responsible for the largest payroll in the country, and transports over 100,000 students to and from school each day. Planning for and managing the state school property portfolio involves the single largest departmental output expense the Ministry is responsible for in dollar terms. Delivering the land and infrastructure for the future property portfolio requires a focus on purchasing and designating new property to expand the portfolio’s capacity to meet the demands of schooling or demographic changes. The Acquisitions and Designations team performs this function and is uniquely placed to build/leverage off relationships with other Crown agencies and Territorial Local Authorities so as to improve the end product and how Information technology is achieved. Continued growth in this area has led to a re-structure of the Acquisitions and Designations team so that Information technology is better placed to deliver the necessary services. About the function You will play an essential part in the delivery of new school sites and will be responsible for a portfolio of approximately 10 projects. You will be expected to take a new land requirement through from initiation (identifying site options) to designation and where appropriate deliver infrastructure so that the site is ready for school construction. Delivery Managers report to a Senior Delivery Manager and they in turn report to the National Manager. this function may suit Somebody with a background in Resource Management Act/urban planning looking to increase their expertiseet or Somebody with land development practice looking for the next step in their career. You will have the opportunity to work with energetic and passionate people within the Ministry and form important strategic/operational relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside the Ministry. About you To be prosperous in this function you will offer excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management expertise to represent the Ministry in a range of settings and engage with regional and national project teams. As a strong relationship builder, you will have a proven track record in central/local government or similar organisations managing teams of consultants.
