About the function Reporting directly to the Finance Manager – Strategic, this function is responsible for coordination and delivery of the work programme across Finance Planning and Performance Team (FPPT). We are pursuing an outstanding finance professional who can use their influencing expertise to help lead and coach team members within FPPT to deliver an excellent service, and to ensure effective connections occur across the wider Finance team. You will play a critical function in getting clarity of the connection points and deliverables between FPPT and the wider finance teams, support and further develop a customer centric approach, and drive the standardisation and rationalisation of processes and practices. The Principal Advisor will produce regular and ad hoc reporting providing a full Ministry view, supervise modelling work across FPPT and focus on process improvements across the team. About you To be prosperous in this function you will have a practical and positive attitude, a keen interest in process improvement and the capability to build effective relationships and credibility with customers at all levels across the Ministry, team members and colleagues in Finance. You will also offer the following: » Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Commerce or Business, and hold Chartered Accountant status within CAANZ or equivalent » Thorough practical knowledge and application of public sector planning, performance reporting and financial management » Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing, and interpersonal expertise » Proven practice in working within a culture of continuous business improvement If you’d like to bring your expertise to a compensateing function within an organisation that’s continuously reaching goals and striving for a better future for New Zealand, we’d love to hear from you.
