Mo tenei turanga – About this function
The Lead Adviser will provide expert advice and thought leadership abilities in the development of substantial and complex curriculum, teaching and learning advice with a focus on assessment. They will support the design and delivery of assessment guidance, resources and support. this function requires expertise and practice of The New Zealand Curriculum, including assessment for learning.
income range – $96,598 – $117,175 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The prosperous candidate will be appointed at a income which reflects individual skills and practice.

We are seeking for people who are able to work at pace and manage set tasks and projects, but you will also notice pressure points, take the initiative, and act. Your personal qualities will include taking pride in producing written work and other forms of communication of the highest quality every time and have a proven capability to get the job done. In this function you will be expected to have the kind of interpersonal savviness that means you relate well with all kinds of people.
To be prosperous in the function, you will need to have proven expertise of, and capability to:
   » skills in the use and application of an assessment capable system
   » sound and comprehensive expertise of assessment as a process of learning, for learning
   » manage planning and reporting cycles and requirements within government
   » convey abstract and/or complex ideas in clear, practical, and concrete terms, tailored for the audience
   » independently lead pieces of work
   » demonstrate well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, with an capability to work cooperatively with others to deal with problems or complete tasks.

Matau ropu ake – About our ministry, group, and team
At Te Tahuhu o te Matauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to akonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
Te Poutahu provides strengthened and inclusive curriculum leadership abilities, skills and partnership for The New Zealand Curriculum, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Whariki, as well as providing skills and resources for quality teaching.
