About the function
This newly created function has been established to lead Te Tari Taiwhenua's response to COVID-19. This is an influential function that provides leadership abilities and oversight across the whole of Te Tari Taiwhenua and is the Department's COVID-19 representative working with groups across Government. this function will add huge value to your career, directly working on a topic with significant and wide impacts.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, Organisational Capcapability and Services, the scope of this function includes:
   » Providing strategic, professional and thought leadership abilities advice to ensure the Department can develop and implement it's approach to management of COVID-19
   » Setting a clear direction for the COVID-19 Management Team and being a supportive leader for this talented team
   » Working across a range of groups within DIA to ensure a well-informed and robust approach to the management of COVID-19
   » Proactively developing strategic partnerships with Government agencies to ensure a well-informed and robust approach to managing the impact of COVID-19
Organisational Capcapability and Services - He Pou Aronui is a branch dedicated to backing Te Tari Taiwhenua – Department of Internal Affairs to deliver our mahi and navigate our future to make New Zealand better for New Zealanders. Our branch works as a strong, connected whole and the Senior leadership abilities Team is a supportive and capable team to be part of.
About you
You will be a senior leader with practice navigating across complex organisations. Your excellent stakeholder management expertise will be evident, as will your strategic leadership abilities practice. You'll be comfortable working with senior leaders and have the capability to react decisively and quickly when required. In addition to this you will:
   » Have planning and programme management expertise
   » Be a clear, confident communicator and influencer
   » Be comfortable operating under time pressure and in ambiguity
   » Be able to work when needed in an ?incident response' mode often with short timeframes
