About our group and team The Early Learning and Student Achievement (ELSA) Group sets the system-level learning for every child and student. Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce results we seek for New Zealand. This Advisor function sits within the Strategy, Planning and Investment team within the Office of the Deputy Secretary. The team is responsible for providing advice and delivery support group-wide, encompassing planning, delivery, monitoring, and reporting with a focus on the business lifecycle process to manage achievement of the long-term business performance. About this function This is a six-month, fixed-term or secondment opportunity reporting to the Senior Manager – Strategy, Planning and Investment. The Advisor function will be responsible for as follows: » Supporting the Group through business planning and budgeting processes » Coordinating the flow of Budget Bid information within the Group and across the Ministry » Maintaining accurate and up to date records of information to support and inform decision papers and reporting processes » Maintaining relationships with the significant Ministry corporate teams to ensure alignment and integration of processes and templates » Supporting key projects, initiatives, and work programmes across the group About you To be prosperous in the function you will be skilled at communicating complex ideas and information and be able to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders. You will have a proactive mindset and be able to identify and mitigate risks as they arise and engage with stakeholders.
