About our group and team The Educational Measurement and Assessment team is tasked with developing a new school entry kete to support teachers to notice, recognise and respond to the strengths and needs of children as they enter school. The project has two more years to develop a set of digital tools and has already made tremendous progress so far. You will be joining a fun and committed team who are about making a difference for our tamariki. Our team sits in the Evidence Data and Knowledge group of the Ministry where much of our research, evaluation, data and reporting is located. About this function The Senior Advisor is responsible for superviseing development ofof assessment for learning tools. They will build strong and influential relationships with Ministry and Sector partners to ensure effective implementation of a kete of tools. The senior advisor will use their practice of using infor mation to support teaching and learning to guide the development and build of the kete of tools. About you You will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of mokopuna and their wh?nau. You will have an education-related tertiary qualification, preferably to post-graduate level, or equivalent practice in teaching, assessment for learning pedagogy, and ideally, assessment tool development You will have a knowledge, or interest, of foundational learning e.g. early literacy/numeracy acquisition; social and emotional development and relationships for learning. This will include a working knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum, and consciousness of the principles of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Wh?riki.. The following attributes/expertise would be also be desirable: » practice in design thinking/educational tool development » Familiarity with educational digital tool (Seesaw, Schooltalk etc) » Knowledge and knowledge of the machinery of government » A user-centred design approach with practice in collaborative or co-design Are you ready to make a difference?
