Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

About the function
EIS Legal is a busy team within EIS Business Services that provides construction, property and commercial related advice, analysis and opinion to support EIS’ function as a strategic asset.
EIS Legal runs an award winning contract automation programme that processes almost 2,000 contracts per annum. Electronic contract signing, legal matter management and significant data reporting are also core functions.
The key accountcapability of the function is to autonomously lead all four key functions and drive continuous system efficiencies and innovation. This includes continuing the development of existing document automation and legal operations systems within EIS Legal as well as working across other EIS teams, as needed, to assess and develop other tech solutions.
You will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of project scope, knowledge requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis, assessing risks, costings, development, problem resolution and prosperous implementation.
About you
Your past practice must include Information technology Project Management including practice delivering and maintaining a tech solution, ideally within a legal or high volume contracts portfolio.
This is a demanding function that will best suit a driven, confident and agile person who is able to manage the function autonomously and adapt to changing priorities and business needs. Qualifications in project management e.g. Managing prosperous Programmes (MSP), PRINCE2, Agile Project Management or equivalent is essential.
To be prosperous in this function, you need to be able to demonstrate the following:
   » Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups (e.g. Project Delivery, Procurement, Legal, IT) to set objectives and produce significant results
   » Strong practice in developing, implementing, and using legal department technology solutions (e.g. matter management, e-signature, document automation)
   » Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication expertise.
   » Proactive approach to recognizing needs, anticipating issues and solving problems
   » A high level of integrity, self-motivation, flexibility, agility and responsiveness in analysing and integrating ideas, information, and differing perspectives to make agile fit-for-purpose decisions
