Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child.
The Acquisitions and Designations (A&D) team is responsible for delivering the programme of land purchase for new schools and kura nationwide. The team is located at locations in Auckland, Tauranga, and Christchurch.
About the function
The Programme Coordinator provides efficient and effective co-ordination planning and documentation, data management, and administration to support the Acquisitions and Designations team to deliver services and manage projects.
Some of your key responsibilities include the following:
   » Maintaining a calendar of major programme meetings and reporting schedules
   » Providing general programme support to the National Manager A&D
   » Attending steering groups, team meetings, Risk Management meetings and any other programme or external project/strategy meetings, and recording minutes as required
   » Appropriately managing and storing programme and project documentation
About you
It is essential that you have significant practice in providing administrative/coordination support in a project or programme environment, advanced Microsoft Office expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and ideally some exposure to project management and reporting software.
You will also offer:
   » a self-directed and proactive approach with excellent time management and the capability to juggle several tasks and deadlines at once
   » strong written and oral communications expertise
   » the capability to make sound decisions within short timeframes, be adaptable and use initiative.
