Medical agent, Regional Cancer Service:MidCentral DHBJob description:Job listing Medical agent, Regional Cancer ServiceEmployer MidCentral DHBWorkplace MidCentral DHB - located at Hastings Hospital Specialty Medical Oncology Term Permanent Grading Medical agent Hours per week 40 Commencement date Open Application closing date 05 Dec 2021 Employer MidCentral DHB Workplace MidCentral DHB - located at Hastings Hospital Specialty Medical Oncology Term Permanent Grading Medical agent Commencement date Open Hours per week 40 Application closing date 05 Dec 2021 Job descriptionThe Regional Cancer Treatment Service at MidCentral District Health Board provides medical oncology, radiation oncology and clinical haematology services for the communities of the MidCentral, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, Whanganui and Taranaki District Health Boards.We are pursuing to appoint a fulltime permanent Medical agent for the Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS) located at Hastings Hospital in Villa 6. This is a non-specialist position appropriate for a doctor with an interest in oncology. This position supports the three specialties of Medical Oncology, Clinical Haematology and Radiation Oncology. candidates for this position must have, or be eligible for, general registration with the New Zealand Medical Council as well as having demonstrated clinical expertise and the capability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team. Some practice in cancer medicine, and expertise of chemotherapy, is an advantage, but not essential. The function will predominantly support the delivery of systemic cancer therapy in the Hawke's Bay and advising and assessing acutely presenting patients under the care of the RCTS. this function is an integral member of the cancer team at Hawke's Bay, supporting and advising a team of specialist cancer nurses and working alongside the RCTS Senior Medical agents. MidCentral DHB requires ALL its employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. To comply with the recent health order, candidates must have had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 15 November 2021 AND their second dose no later than 1 January 2022.
