This part time (0.5 FTE) position is located in Palmerston North and provide services across the MDHB district.Our specialist services have a strong focus on providing quality care while building strong relationships with our colleagues in the primary care sector. The position is temporary until February 2023 to provide leave without pay cover. Palmerston North is a great place to live, and to raise a family. We have a strong musical and cultural community, excellent schooling and tertiary institutes, and terrific sporting opportunities. We are lucky to have New Zealand's Ruahine and Tararua forest parks, Himatangi and Foxton beaches and alpine Mount Ruapehu all within 2 hours of our city, while Wellington, a lovely Capital city, is even closer! MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts. Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is connected with both Auckland and Otago medical schools. Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa. MidCentral DHB requires ALL its employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. To comply with the current Health Order, candidates must be doubled vaccinated for COVID-19 no later than 1 January 2022.
