The NZ Equities team is part of the Direct Investments business unit and is responsible for managing the Guardians' active listed NZ equities portfolio. The NZ equities mandate capitalises on investment opportunities that are in line with the Guardians' investment endowments and beliefs through active stock selection. They have substantial holdings in New Zealand listed companies such as Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Meridian Energy, Spark New Zealand and Auckland International Airport, to name a few.

There will be an emphasis on conducting fundamental analysis and research on New Zealand listed securities, including evaluating ESG risks and opportunities. You will also be involved with the construction, maintenance and reporting on the overall NZ Equities portfolio and the environment in which Information technology operates. Beyond the portfolio, expectations are that the prosperous candidate will be a strong team player with a growth mindset. They will assist with the cultivation of a constructive culture within the team and broader organisation.
Your responsibilities will include, undertaking fundamental research on new and existing investments, building and maintaining financial models, analysing financial data, and monitoring significant trends across companies and sectors within our local market. You will assist with engagement with listed companies and market participants as appropriate.

You will demonstrate a strong passion for financial markets and investments, as well as the motivation and drive to build a career at the Guardians. With between 1-3 years, or thereabouts of post graduate practice, you are now ready to take the next step into an exciting function as the NZ Equities team embarks on its next leg of growth.
Your core attributes will include:
   » Critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and creative problem solving.
   » Strong intellect and analytical aptitude, preferably practice in conducting financial analysis and modelling
   » Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets and investment concepts.
   » Eagerness to lgain and interest in continuing training, and development.
