We lead all engagement with the media and manage all the Ministry’s internal and external communications channels, publications, events, branding and communications design.

About this function
this function of Kaitohu Tuakana – Senior Business Partner, Communications Accounts works in partnership with one of our key business groups, providing an end-to-end strategic communications and stakeholder engagement service. Information technology spans account management, integrated communications services and trusted skills, all of which build good relationships and supports us to be prosperous as a team.
Our work is exciting, interesting, and worthwhile. Key accountabilities of the position include:
   » acting as a trusted advisor, business partner and influencer to business group leaders to ensure communication strategies are effective and risks and opportunities are well managed
   » ensuring media responses are positive, timely and co-ordinated across the business. This may include some out of hours work, which would be negotiated and agreed
   » providing integrated strategic communications skills and account management services for specific parts of the Ministry
   » identifying opportunities for the Ministry to build its reputation, leading a proactive approach to good news stories while at the same time identifying and mitigating reputational risks
   » working in partnership with M?ori to incorporate Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership principles as part of our everyday Ministry communications, strategies and channels
   » supporting innovation and continuous improvement across the team.
About you
If you’ve got practice in leading with influence, strong relationship management and communications skills – both strategically and in delivery – we’re keen to hear from you. You will be able to work positively across the Ministry and the CSE group, with a purposeful and innovative approach. You will bring a expertiseable, calm, positive and proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
You will also offer:
   » practice working in a communications and stakeholder engagement function in a large and complex organisation
   » practice in a range of communications and stakeholder engagement functions
   » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
