About our group and team Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people. The Business Analysis and Systems team supports wider Sector Enablement and Support to maximise the capability of the Ministry to deliver on its purpose. We understand that to get the best results for children, young people and adult students, our p eople need data and information to aid in making ideal decisions. We provide data and information to ensure the provision of information and analysis to build the capcapability of the Group to develop effective policy, design effective operational policy framework and plan the effective implementation of that policy. About this function You will collect, analyse and interpret data from across the education sector and prepare written reports for presentation to the Minister and management teams. You will be skilled in helping managers to interpret the information available and in turn be able to understand their information requirements and plan for this as part of the continuing reporting improvement process. You will be part of a team of analysts supporting each other through problem definition, solution resolution and peer reviews. About you We’re looking for someone who: » has two to five years significant work practice » can demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills » has practice using either SAS/BOXI/Tableau and is a user of SQL and Excel » can communicate their ideas effectively » has excellent attention to detail and time management » shows initiative and enjoy new challenges has the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga You’ll be joining a small, high-performing team with a culture of constructive open-minded debate and working together to make an impact.
