We’re looking for a Design Lead to drive forward transformative service changes for ACC – using human centred design methods to identify and elaborate solutions for delivery. You’ll be key in ensuring our mahi both creates impact and contributing to the internal design capcapability lift for the organisation. We’ve got a supportive team and we rally together to tackle interesting and significant challenges. And have a lot of fun doing it! What you’ll be doing Our Design Leads work on a range of opportunities that support transformative service change for our customers. This could be for businesses, treatment providers, injured people or looking at potential interventions to stop injury. This could mean one day you’re leading work on solving customer and business problems, with our stakeholders, designers and customers. And another working on tools and processes to build our community of practice. this function isn’t just about research and ideation but translating the opportunities into tangible actions for delivery prioritisation. You’ll be building partnerships with ACC leaders, enabling them to turn customer insights into action to deliver improved customer practices. And as a thought leader and senior member of the design team, you’ll play a key function in fostering a team culture that encourages curiosity, innovation and inclusive problem solving. Who are we looking for? » A natural collaborator with proven practice leading complex design initiatives end to end » You have an broad design toolkit to pull from and easily apply the best methods to deal with the problem at hand » You’ve introduced new ways of working / design framework to an organisation » A confident communicator who can clearly articulate ideas and guide others through the design process » As a mentor, you help others ‘lgain by doing’ while also learning from others to ensure our design capcapability continues to grow » You build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and delivery partners – and can clearly articulate ideas and resolve issues without drama » You’re able to see the big picture, find the innovations and opportunities, and identify the pragmatic steps to achieve them » You’re action oriented and delivery focussed » Have a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to your function » And you have an inclusive, safe and collaborative leadership abilities style which creates space for diverse perspectives Who will you be working with? Reporting to the Manager Design you’ll be part of a team of passionate human centred designers and behaviour change practitioners. You’ll be working with the other Design Leads and the Design Resourcing and Practice Manager to contribute to the improvement of the practice.
