We deliver to a population of approximately 329,000 people over the Otago and Southland regions, through two main centres, Dunedin and Invercargill. We proudly provide quality healthcare to our population. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from registered Medical Practitioners who currently hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or expect to qualify within the next two years, and would like to join us no later than 2024. The ideal candidates will be General Surgeons with a specialty interest in Upper GI surgery, and are happy to take part in the general surgery call roster. Dunedin Hospital is a 350 bed tertiary hospital situated in the centre of the city, we are currently at the beginning of the process of building a new state of the art Hospital close to the original facilities. Southern DHB has close links to the University of Otago, and the Otago Medical School, one of New Zealand's leading research Institutes. Dunedin is a great little city with a big town feel and well known for its Southern Hospitality.
