Our client is a kaupapa M?ori organisation based on a wh?nau first, Tikanga based, wellbeing approach. Our organisation is based on the philosophies of Manakitanga, Whanaungatanga, Rangatiratanga and Arohatanga. As our client continues to grow within the Kirikiriroa region, and as they continue to support a growing number of whanau's within the region, the need to find people to support not only the youth, but their whanau as well also increases. We currently have several Kaiawhina - Youth Support Worker positions for full-time and casual roles within our Youth Residential Services. As part of this role, you will be primarily working with youth between the age of 13-18, who stay within our support network and require support and guidance on a day-to-day basis. As a Kaiawhina, you will be required to work a roster based around a shift pattern, working 12-hour shifts with a four-day on, four-day off schedule. Along with this, we are seeking Kaiawhina - Youth Support Workers who: » Pride themselves on a wh?nau first, Tikanga based, well-being approach » Passionate about making a difference in the lives of our taiohi » Positive and supportive mindset to assist our taiohi to achieve their goals and aspirations and could lead to our taiohi returning home or living independently in the community » Patient and calm. Walking alongside our taiohi and at the pace of our taiohi » Respectful and upholds the integrity/dignity of our taiohi » A holistic approach to wellbeing If you enjoy working in a kaupapa M?ori organisation, have a strong work ethic and your career pathway is working with taiohi, then this may be the role for you. Requirements: » Full Drivers License » First Aid Certificate » High computer literacy » Fully vaccinated and boosted » 1- 3 Years' experience in the Youth Sector preferably in residential settings » Have or be prepared to study towards L.4 qualification in Youth Work or L.5 in Social Services » Demonstrates a high level of oral and written skills » Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
