Systems Specialist, Digital Messaging & Systems, 24 months Fixed Term
   » Your work will contribute to the supporting and developing key information technology solutions within the Digital Safety Directorate
   » You will work closely with all parts of Digital Safety supporting our function to minimise the risk of online harm to New Zealanders
   » You will contribute towards the management of key stakeholder relationships with external partners Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders.
The Department of Internal Affairs' Digital Safety Directorate is a risk-located, responsive and modern regulator providing effective regulatory services in an increasingly complex, borderless, and digital world.
We are seeking for a Systems Specialist to join our Digital Safety team preferably in Wellington but will consider Auckland located candidates. You will be joining a team where we work to ensure the online safety of New Zealanders.
About the function
We are seeking for a practiced system specialists to join the Digital Messaging & Systems team.
You will support systems for:
   » Digital Child Exploitation
   » Digital Messaging and Systems
   » Digital Violent Extremism
   » Intelligence and Insights
   » Design, Engagement and Innovation
Key requirements of the function:
   » Strong technical background with capcapability across infrastructure, networking, databases and application development and management
   » Demonstrates continuous improvement of Information technology systems and methodologies to ensure Digital Safety technology is fit for purpose
   » capability to effectively manage workload by balancing multiple competing priorities including project work and Business As Usual system support
   » An engaging, confident communicator who can explain complex technical information to a variety of audiences from senior leaders to frontline staff.
   » People can easily access the services and information they need
   » Iwi, hap? and communities across New Zealand are safe, resilient and thriving
   » People’s sense of belonging and collective memory builds an inclusive New Zealand
   » New Zealand is a well-functioning democracy across central and local government
This is not a development function. We need an practiced person with an appetite for challenge and a history of success. Preferred candidates may be required to undergo psychometric profiling as part of our selection criteria. There may be exposure to harmful content due to the nature of the work.
