Do you have a love of storytelling and knowledge sharing, particularly with youth audiences? Do you bring a M?ori worldview to your mahi? Would you like to work with a creative and practiced team sharing and science and technology through digital, audio visual, and written storytelling?
MOTAT has an amazing opportunity to join the Science and Technology Centre (?SciTech Centre') project team. At its heart this is a storytelling function where you will be working as part of a team to:
   » support the integration of te Ao M?ori in this flagship project for MOTAT
   » develop content for the new SciTech Centre at MOTAT
   » build relationships within and outside of the MOTAT Team, specifically those that bring m?tauranga M?ori
   » help shape how MOTAT visitors connect with science and technology through your mahi
MOTAT's SciTech Centre (scheduled to open in 2024) is at the heart of the Museum's vision to educate and inspire the innovators of tomorrow and we are committing to embedding m?tauranga M?ori and a dual world view in this kaupapa from the outset.
With a natural capability to walk in two worlds, you will thrive in an environment where our visitors are at the forefront of what we do and the prosperous delivery of interactive exhibitions and programming is measured, not just by numbers, but by the quality of the practice and diversity of the audience they attract. You could be an practiced exhibitions developer looking for a project that really motivates you or be inpracticed but with drive, a availability to lgain and grow, and a true love of storytelling. We would love to be able to offer a permanent function, but at the moment this is a two -year project and fixed-term function tied to the delivery of the SciTech Centre .
About You
There is no blueprint for the perfect person for this function. You'll have:
   » a love of storytelling and knowledge sharing
   » great teamwork and communication expertise
   » a confidence in sharing your knowledge and lived practice of te Ao M?ori
   » an interest in (or previous practice) working in the cultural sector
