We have a great opportunity for the right person to join our Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast team at the Ministry of Education. We will give you the opportunity to work directly with senior leaders, boards of trustees and Communities of Learning to achieve prosperous educational results for all students, with a particular focus on realising the potential of Maori students and Pasifika students. You must be able to influence others with knowledge, expertise and practice in improving student engagement and achievement. We are seeking for a person who has: » a good knowledge of the New Zealand education system and of legislation significant to education » practice, preferably at a leadership abilities level, in Primary or Secondary education, Maori medium, or school governance » relationship and stakeholder management practice » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi » the capability to partner with others to support and implement change initiatives » a significant tertiary qualification We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including Maori, Pacific and those with disabilities, who will enrich our knowledge of the education system.
