In collaboration with a wide variety of internal support providers, our Student Achievement Coaches provide advice and support to enable tauira to overcome barriers to achievement they may practice, whether personal or academic. The position of Student Achievement Coach will take a Te Tiriti-led approach to advising and supporting students in all areas of their hauora and academic achievement. You will use available data and the whakawhanuanga you build with tauira to identify those in need, providing proactive support where possible. You will coach tauira through the various stages of their learning journey and ensure that wrap-around plans are developed with students when required. Essential requirements of the function include the following: » A comprehensive knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an authentic commitment to its positioning as the founding document of Aotearoa » Demonstrated practice in whakawhanaungatanga, the capability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of partners, particularly mana whenua » A high level of communication and problem-solving expertise » Take a whanau-centric approach to tauira » The capability to understand and analyse data for tauira results » High competency in Microsoft Office and availability to lgain various bespoke university software Preferred but not essential: » A tertiary qualification » practice in the use of te reo and tikanga M?ori is an advantage » significant work practice and knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education environment We are seeking for the following: » Someone who is manaaki centered and driven by aroha » Delivering study plans to large numbers of students » Increasing student achievement, retention and progression » capability to work to within an eco system and understand diversity and intersectionality » Someone who values positive student engagement and results and is Te Tiriti-led » An capability to understand the overall hauora of a tauira and the best ways to help nourish this At Massey University we embrace diversity and talent and provide our employees with an excellent working environment and an broad range of opportunities to develop intellectually, professionally, and personally.
