MfE’s Policy Implementation and Delivery (PID) r?p? has a stewardship function in enabling environmental policy intention into positive reality. PID leads the planning and management of policy implementation, bringing together integrated partnerships with iwi/M?ori, partner agencies, local government, councils, industry and the scientific community to achieve collaborative, transformational delivery of environmental reforms.
We have a unique opportunity for a number of Kait?tari and Kait?tari Matua to help ensure a smooth transition to, and effective implementation of the future resource management (RM) system that delivers on the principles of te Tiriti and provides greater recognition of te ao M?ori, including m?tauranga M?ori.
The functions will be focused on overall RM transition and regional implementation for M?ori, working within specific regions to understand and support enhanced M?ori participation in resource management.
You will support partnership at a regional level to facilitate greater participation in the RM system. This involves working closely with iwi and hap? and M?ori groups to understand what is needed to implement the resource management system, to provide the support needed and to create regional transition plans.
The work brings an opportunity to influence resource management results and Crown delivery of resource management programmes. Information technology will include research, collaboration and engagement with partners in region, responsibility for key projects, and providing high-quality advice and briefings to senior leaders and Ministers.
These functions sit within our Policy Alignment Team in our Resource Management Reform - M?ori Partnering and Policy Directorate and offer an opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge and exposure to significant policy reform with an implementation lens.

   » practice in, or a sound knowledge of, te ao M?ori / te Tiriti / environmental legislation, and/or practice of contributing to kaupapa that impacts on M?ori.
   » Senior level environmental planning practice and/or senior central government practice delivering projects, ideally related to legislative reform.
   » Strong analytical expertise, curiosity and problem-solving with the capability to apply a range of frameworks to analysis.
   » A strong delivery focus - you have the capability to think strategically across systems and effectively navigate and deliver against multiple competing priorities.
   » capability to provide leadership abilities, coordination and coaching to junior members of the division and team, to build their capcapability.
