Short Stay Recovery Nurse

About the function
The SSR has short stay patients who are independent, have minimal medical history, but will require a one night stay for various surgical reasons (IV abs, analgesia, overnight IDC or drain, potentially simple dressing changes etc) or social reasons (patients from out of town, no one to stay with them overnight, no telephone at home etc). These patients are expected to be discharged home by 10am the following morning. SSR will cover all shifts (AM / PM / Nocte) from Monday morning to Saturday end of AM shift (3.30pm) The SSR will be closed from 3.30pm Saturday-Sunday and reopen on Monday morning.
About you
- Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ).
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and scope appropriate to place of work.
- Demonstrates an knowledge of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a significant way in the nursing function.
- A commitment to achieving equitable results for M?ori. - A personal commitment to on-going learning and development including attainment/maintenance of PDRP.
