Whakarongorau Aotearoa recognises the importance of wh?nau, hap? and iwi within Aotearoa. Our goal is to establish high trust collaborative relationships with M?ori and to align our services to consider and reflect M?ori aspirations and equity within our work. Head of New Service Design – Mana Taurite supports service activities by directing and developing programmes and procedures to enhance productivity and performance. Because this function balances community effectiveness specifically for M?ori and capacity to sustainably provide service; deep knowledge around service delivery and community effectiveness will be key to delivery
About the function – Atu mo te mahi
The Head of New Service Design – Mana Taurite will deliver effective and measurable improvement for M?ori and Pacific Peoples to engage and have a positive practice while using Whakarongorau Aotearoa’s services, while working to the parameters of Appendix one.
Key tasks and accountabilities:
   » Support and lead the development of and implementation of a services for M?ori and Pacifica
   » Endorse and or lead on the development and submission of equity initiatives for community and service provision
   » Lead, monitor and embed mana taurite plans and development initiatives
   » Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support including analysis of complex information and communications
   » Liaising and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to assist operational and strategic planning using influencing and negotiating skills to overcome barriers
   » Effectively and openly exchanging information on work and the mana tautiri journey with colleagues to promote sustainable changes for M?ori utilising our services
   » Utilise qualitative and quantitative information to lead appropriate analysis and develop robust business cases that contribute to equity projects
   » Analyse, interpret complex data from multiple channels to highlight issues, risks and support decision making for Maori
   » Ensure robust audit programme linked to quality improvement programmes are developed and implemented
   » Contribute to the promotion of links and collaboration between the varying teams and services where there are synergies in pathways
About you – Pehea koe
Qualifications and practice:
   » A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Organisational Development or Health Science
   » Ideally skills in Te Whare Tapa Wh? (M?ori model of health)
   » At least three years’ practice in an influential senior function is preferred
   » Ideally practiced in project management within the health sector, specifically stakeholder management and engagement
Skills and competence:
   » A sound knowledge, knowledge and application of Te Reo M?ori and Tikanga
   » Proven capability to engage effectively with M?ori and non-M?ori and advise on equity focused approaches
   » Knowledgeable of health inequalities and priority populations
   » Exceptional strategic, communication and interpersonal skills, including the capability to engage well with others and positively influence results
   » A strong knowledge of Government and the Treaty of Waitangi
   » Knowledgeable of health inequalities and priority populations
   » Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
