Offer: Senior Operational Policy Advisor – Wellington:ACC_hainesJob description:Job Description» Be involved in an interesting variety of work» Help improve Aotearoa’s practice of ACC » Leading pieces of policy improvement work » Permanent, full-time function located in Wellington The Operational Policy team develop operational policy to help ACC achieve its organisational and legislative objectives. In this function as a Senior Operational Policy Advisor you are responsible for providing advice to key stakeholders across ACC to influence the quality and consistency of frontline decision making, and supporting your operational policy colleagues to build the same capcapability. You will have plenty of variety in the work you do. You will be implementing legislation changes, leading pieces of policy improvement work, and superviseing a work programme that ensures our operational policies are up to date and fit for purpose. You’ll work collaboratively across the organisation to create opportunities to improve how work happens in the frontline, improving Aotearoa’s practice of ACC. What you need to be prosperous in this function will include the following: » A solid foundation in a similar function (e.g. in a specialist or policy related function), preferably advising in a complex operating environment » Coaching and capcapability development expertise, with the capability to adjust your approach to suit individual needs » practice applying policy analysis expertise to identifying the root cause of problems, developing policy objectives, formulating options and assessment criteria » Easily able to turn analysis into clear advice and confidently answer questions from decision-makers » Key to this function will be your capability to partner and collaborate with customers and stakeholders from across the business to develop and implement operational policy This opportunity would suit either an existing senior policy advisor looking for a change or wanting to take a more hands-on approach to setting their work programme and leading from within, or an practiced policy advisor with great interpersonal expertise who wants to step into mentoring and coaching others at a senior level. this function provides a real opportunity to affect the lives of New Zealanders ensuring that they are provided with the right rehabilitation support at the right time.
