About our group and team The Data and Information Stewardship group (DIS) is responsible for developing and executing policies, practices, procedures and technology to manage the data and information lifecycle to deliver on the needs of data and information for users of the information. The group champions the management of safe and appropriate use of data and information for better decision making. The Data Solutions and Warehousing team is responsible for delivering leading Ministry thinking, implementation, operation and maintenance of data warehousing technology in collaboration with experts in the Information technology group. About this function The Senior SAS Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining fit for purpose SAS solutions, products and services that support the Ministry’s analysis and decision making process. About you We’re looking for a curious Senior SAS Developer who wants to be part of a team to deliver on our data journey. To be prosperous in this function, you’ll need to be customer-centric, delivery focused and work in an agile way. You will also offer as follows: » At least eight years of continuous SAS programming practice » practice integrating SAS with data warehouse environments running on a RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server » Strong knowledge of Data modelling concepts (Third normal form, Dimensional and Data vault). Any practice in Data vault methodology is highly advantageous » Excellent interpersonal expertise and the capability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders » The capability to prioritise work and manage multiple tasks to delivery while managing expectations of stakeholders » Expert at problem solving with high degree of data analytical expertise » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga Are you ready to make a difference?
