About our group and team
Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
The National Service Support and Guidance Team ensures service and practice support and subject matter skills is available to help build system, specialist, educator and wh?nau capcapability in relation to inclusive education. The team is responsible for oversight of the national learning support practice network. The team has a strong commitment to giving practical effect to Ka Hikitia and Te Tiriti ? Waitangi to ensure positive and sustainable change for M?ori ?konga.
About this function
You will be responsible for supporting a range of programmes and services that support children and young people across New Zealand to stay engaged and achieve in education. You will maintain a national overview of the activities being delivered and provide guidance, support, and improvements to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmes and services.
About you
To be prosperous in this function you will be able to do the following:
   » Work in a collaborative way with key stakeholders to provide timely, creative, quality implementation advice and support
   » Manage your time and prioritise tasks effectively. Design and develop systems and tools to translate design into practice and work to assure their effective use
   » Co-ordinate the provision of specialised input into implementation advice including legal advice and legislative interpretation
   » Provide analysis and advice to other managers and teams all over the Ministry who are working on related issues to contribute to integration and co-ordination
   » Maintain documentation to maximise access to consistent and valid information
   » Capture knowledge from implementation activities, reporting, meetings, analysis of documents produced, and lessons learned
   » Contribute to the roll-out of new systems and processes to ensure these are transitioned effectively into the field
