About our mahi –T?huhu – Preserving the Nation's Memory (PtNM) T?huhu is a multiyear work programme for the upgrade and expansion of the physical infrastructure and storage capacity of Archives NZ and the National Library of NZ to; » Preserve and make accessible our documentary heritage material and contribute to our nation's economic and cultural value to all New Zealanders. » Enable and contribute to New Zealanders sense of national and cultural identity, so we are inspired by our history and who we are as a country. » Protect our taonga invaluable to the Treaty settlements process and maintain trust in the Iwi-Crown partnership » Increase trust in government transparency and democratic accountcapability, and confidence in constitutional infrastructure. T?huhu provides a uniqueopportunity for the Crown and M?ori partnership, as written in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, to be integrated into the new physical and cultural infrastructure of Archives NZ, the National Library and partners Ng? To find out more about T?huhu – Preserving the Nation's Memory go toArchives New Zealand || T?huhu: preserving the nation’s memory About the function In this function, you will be responsible for ensuring all the Archive holdings are correctly labelled and is in secure packaging with accurate data recorded in the system, ready for eventual relocation into new purpose-built facilities. Key aspect of this function of course is good people leadership abilities including managing and monitoring the workflow and quality of the team and building and maintaining key internal & external stakeholder relationships. The function could be a secondment or fixed term until July 2023. About you As our ideal candidate, you will be an excellent problem solver with an capability to quickly understand complex information and systems. You will be a great communicator, a relationship builder and will understand the importance of safe handling of heritage material. You will bring your proven practice in logistical or operational management and ideally you will have practice in prosperously leading people to achieve targets.
